Sonja Henderson is a painter, sculptor, and mosaic muralist. She has lived in Pilsen for over 20 years. Sonja’s public artwork ranges from exquisite mixed-media tile mosaics in Rwanda to the MLK Living Memorial in Marquette Park, Chicago, IL. Her commitment to restorative justice and community building has created long-lasting ties to Chicago’s south and west side. Sonja recently founded the Mothers’ Healing Circle in Lawndale to mend trauma through woman-centered healing visual and meditative art practices.
