There’s No Place Like Home, a tile mosaic created by Hector Durate in 2020, commemorates L. Frank Baum’s beloved book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Mr. Baum lived near the site and was inspired to write the book by telling stories to children in Humboldt Park. The mural is the result of a collaboration between the Chicago Public Art Group and Bickerdike Development. The installation reinforces the importance of home and the impact of affordable housing on people and communities.
