In 2010, lead artist Juan Carlos Perez and assistant artists Patricia Sotarello and William Nicholson worked with a group of neighborhood youth from the Logan Square and Humboldt Park neighborhoods to create The Introduction. Together they created a mural that explores the role of the Bloomingdale Trail in the community as well as the role that women play in our daily lives past, present, and future. The mural features community members’ portraits and poetry from influential women authors.
