In 2016, Artists Andy Bellomo, Rahmaan Statik and Assistant Artist Anna Murphy created a text-based mural about the life and values of Medal of Honor Awardee Manuel Perez on the exterior of Manuel Perez Elementary School. Students wrote essays on their feelings about the school and these words were incorporated into the text of the mural, which faces the playground.
