Unveiling: The History of the Packinghouse Worker

The History of the Packinghouse Worker is one of the few remaining exterior murals by William Walker, renowned African-American artist, and co-founder of the Chicago Mural Group (now CPAG). This is the mural’s second restoration, completed in December, 2021 by Bernard Williams and Damon Lamar Reed. The event will feature music by Dom Flemons.

(Recipients of the 2021 Abbey Mural Prize, Funded by National Academy of Design/Edwin Austin Abbey Memorial Trust Fund for Mural Painting, National Endowment of the Arts, and Chicago Housing Authority.)
