In my studio practice and public art making, I create work that builds a narrative whole from the juxtapositions of parts. I construct mosaics, mixed-media work, and paintings, piece by piece, until the meanings resonate in
the associations between each part. I am conceptually drawn to this collage aesthetic as a way to uncover relationships between different languages of expression, between form and content, and between artist and audience. It is in the space between things where the most powerful metaphors reside. I seek to make work that repairs, reassembles and re-imagines. I am interested in art processes that invite personal and public constructions of meaning about lives worth living, through attentiveness to the natural world.
